Offcials' Development Camp |

The BCBOA is pleased to announce that a 2-Person Development Camp will be held in conjunction the 2012 BC Summer Games in Cloverdale.
The Camp Staff will consist entirely of BCBOA Clinicians and Evaluators under the direction of Tanner Cervo.
Space is limited to 20 campers so don't wait to register.
The camp will begin on July 19th with classroom and floor instruction. July 20th & 21st will be competition days where camp staff will participate with pre-game, half-time and post-game discussion. July 22nd will be "get-away-day" with opportunity for 8 officials to officiate a single game each.
Camp cost is $250.00. For those requiring accommodation the BCBOA can arrange for fre accommodation in a school classroom or, for those who request hotel acommodation, the Camp Director will arrange it for $45.00/night based on double occupancy. The Camp Director must be notified well in advance for hotel accommodation requests.

Obituary: BCBOA Legend Passes |

We note with sadness the passing of legendary BCBOA and GVBOA member Mike Woods who passed away last Sunday in Kamloops following a long battle with cancer.
Mike was involved in many sports including football and baseball but officiating basketball was his passion. He was awarded the Provincial Wink Willox Award in 1994 and the CABO Wink Willox Award in 1995 and was a Lifetime Member of BCBOA.
Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne, and his children Bradley, Jodi, Brett and Erin, and several grandchildren.
Donations may be made in Mike's name to KidSport or a charity of your choice.

Recognize and Nominate Your Fellow Officials
Do you have a fellow official that has gone beyond his/her call of duty and displayed skills in mentoring, recruitment, officiating, education, leadership or administration? If so, they could be nominated for the Bob Hall Award of Merit.
How about an official with a significant length of service, is a good or exceptional floor official, has provided various forms of service in your association, and has provided admin services? This individual can be nominated for the CABO National “Wink” Willox Award.
Or do you know of an official that has provided your association with outstanding contributions and years of service. Nominate them for the Provincial Lifetime Member Award.

Basketball BC Hall of Fame Dinner |

A quick reminder that the Basketball BC Hall of Fame Dinner is coming up on April 21 at the Langley Event Center.
Two BCBOA members are being honored at the dinner - Dean MacKinnon is being inducted into the Hall of Fame while Steve Mawhinney will be presented with the Wink Willox Award.
