Ted Earley Award
The Ted Earley Award is the highest honor CABO can bestow on one of it's members. It is named in honor of Ted Earley of Ontario, CABO'S first President and a driving force in setting up the National Organization.
Criteria for the Ted Earley Award:
- The nominee is recognized as a superior floor official.
- Significant length of service
- Varied forms of service at the National and International level
- Administrative-Leadership role
- Interpretive-Educative role
- Nominated by the Province
Since the inception of CABO only two individuals from British Columbia have been given the Ted Earley Award:
- 1984 - J.A. "Wink" Willox
- 1998 - Bob Hall
- 2009 - Bill Crowley

CABO National "Wink" Willox Award
The Wink Willox Award is an honor CABO can bestow on a provincial level. The Wink Willox award can only be given to one CABO member in "each" province in a given year, Where as only one CABO member in any province can be award the Ted Earley Award in a given year. The National Wink Willox award is named in honor of J.A. "Wink" Willox of British Columbia, a driving force in establishing a standard for officiating in Western Canada.

- Good floor official by local standards
- Significant length of service
- Varied forms of service
- Administrative role
- Nominated by the Province

Bob Hall Award of Merit

Each Candidate:
- is nominated by the Local Association
- is a member in good standing of the BCBOA in the year of nomination
- has provided outstanding service to the Local Association in any of the following areas:
- Mentoring; takes an informal and personal interest in assisting new/young officials with their development
- Recruitment; shows initiative in soliciting new membership for their local Association
- Officiating; demonstrates willingness and cooperation in assisting their assignor with challenging predicaments
- Education; demonstrates a passion to assist the development of officials through involvement in a local or regional Education position
- Administration; demonstrates length of service and/or initiative in strengthening a local Association through an Executive position or as an Assignor
- Leadership; provides exceptional support to the local Executive by offering to assist with any of the above, whilst not a member of the Association’s administrative structure
The Nominee will also:
- demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm and a willingness to support and adapt to progressive change
- offer dedication and support for the BCBOA and its policies and procedures
- be well respected within the local basketball community
- support basketball officiating both locally and regionally
Submissions:
- must be made in writing (e-mail) to the BCBOA (or designate) by March 31st
- must clearly articulate the type of contribution for which the official is being nominated
- must include detail to support the nomination

There is no restriction to the number of nominations that can be submitted by any one Association in a given year. An official may be nominated and selected in more than one year, but not for the same purpose. The final selection and the number of recipients in a given year will be decided by the Executive of the BCBOA.

Ritchie / Nicurity Scholarship Award
These scholarships were created to honor Bill Ritchie of New Brunswick and Bryan Nicurity of Saskatchewan, both of whom are past Presidents of Cabo and Ted Earley Award recipients. Currently there are 6 - $500.00 scholarship available on a yearly basis.
Criteria for the Ritchie / Nicurity Scholarship Award:
- Applicant must be a registered member in good standing of a Provincial Association and of CABO.
- Scholarships are available to both male and female applicants.
- Financial need is not a factor.
- Produce a letter signed by a Provincial Executive member to certify the applicant is a member in good standing.
- Produce a student ID certifying the applicant is a full time student at a University, College or Cegrep.
- Students entered in trade apprenticeship or upgrading programs are eligible but must verify full-time status.
- Applicants can hold other scholarships or bursaries in conjunction with the CABO scholarship.
- Applications must be received; by the CABO judging committee by August 15th of the given year.
- Student officials wishing to apply for a scholarship should request an application form from their Provincial Association who in turn will verify the application and forward it to the CABO judging committee.

Provincial Lifetime Members
Provincial Life members are regular, associate or former members of the BCBOA who, in the view of the membership, have made an outstanding contribution to the Association. It shall require a majority vote of the members present at a regularly constituted BCBOA meeting for approval of life membership. The following individuals are Life Members in the BCBOA:
