BCBOA Makes Changes PDF Print E-mail

The BCBOA will sport a new, streamlined look going into the 2011/2011 season.

At the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, September 25 the Member Associations approved several significant structural changes when they adopted a new Constitution and By Laws.

The major changes are:

  • One delegate from each Member Association will comprise the Provincial Council
  • The Provincial Council will elect five persons (reduced form six) to the Executive Council
  • The Executive Council which will be made up of the President; Vice-President  Finance & Admin; Vice-President Education & Development; Vice President-Marketing & Communications, and Secretary.
  • Each Executive Council member will be elected by position.
  • The Executive Council will appoint two individuals (each year) to serve as Technical Director & Program Development Director
  • All Executive Council terms of office are for two years (reduced from three years)

"The Constitution & By Law Review Committee spent countless hours over the past year developing a more efficient management structure to best serve our members and clients." said Tim Heide. "The new structure allows for more definition of activities and functions and provides for much improved accountability and communication.  My thanks to my fellow committee members Jim Cervo and Jerry Mulliss for all their help. My thanks also to all Provincial Council members for their advice and input and for recognizing the need to change we way we do business and move forward."

The new Executive Council as elected by the Provincial Council are:

  • President  :  Tim Heide
  • VP Finance: Jim Cervo
  • VP Education : Doug Service
  • VP Marketing: Jerry Mulliss
  • Secretary: Shelley Ganchar

"I'd like to say a big thank you to retiring Executive members Al Haynes & Dave Kroschinsky." said Heide. "They have played large roles in the development of BCBOA in the past few years."

The new Constitution and By Laws showing Executive Council portfolio responsibilities will be published on the BCBOA Members Site in the next few days and will replace the old Factbook.
