Bob Heavenor Passes PDF Print E-mail

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Bob Heavenor who lost his battle with brain cancer on Saturday evening.

Bob, 59, was an independent developer of computer software and was a member of the GVBOA for many years. He was instrumental in helping to bring BCBOA into the age of electronic communications through his involvement with Amecan which developed the BCBOA Member's web site as well as the Scheduler system of assigning.

Bob worked literally hundreds of games for the GVBOA as well as several provincial tournaments  He was an annual fixture at the Tri City officials' camp.

As we remember Bob let's remember his cheerfulness, charm, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Please join us as we send our condolences, prayers and thoughts to his wife Dianne and family.

Here is a message from his daughter Rena:

It is with incredible sadness that I write to you all.  Dad has lost his fight with brain cancer. It took his life late Saturday evening. He laboured with his breathing for several hours, his body was just so strong, it would not let go.

He declined rapidly last week and passed away at home with all of us there, singing and holding onto him.

We are so grateful for the love and support we have received over the past year. Everyone really rallied for dad....we never lost hope, from the fundraisers, to donations and constant prayers we sincerely felt loved and cared for.

Mom is taking one day at a time, we are all surrounding her with our love. Her home address is 4271 Bonavista drive, V7E 5B1

 Rena

A Celebration of Bob's life will be held soon and we will update you when the date, location and time areannounced by the family.
